Mock election gives Labour majority - Teletext National news (17.10.05).
A mock election with Auckland students as voters delivered a resounding mandate for Labour, with the party 20 points ahead of National.
The students gave Labour 47% of the party vote with National gathering 27%. More than 4,000 students voted in the mock MMP election programme which aims to teach young people about the democratic process.
Minor parties also won support, with the Green party securing 8% and the Aotearoa Cannabis Party 5%.
