Cannabis is the world's best crop for biofuel, containing 77% cellulose, which can be turned into alcohol and burnt in existing petrol engines. Under 'cottage industry' proposals made by ALCP a multi-million dollar hemp industry will be established in New Zealand allowing for production of cheap, sustainable fuel. This is in line with the Government's new Biofuel legislation. Hemp seed oil could also be used for lubricating engines, and other machinery.

"The only thing stopping us gong into production in New Zealand at the moment is the present illogical law controlling cannabis"  One amazing thing about  this process, is that  the by product can be used as a highly nutritious food source for human or stock survival. This is a win win situation with the latest Australian report saying the price of oil could quadruple.  This means the time to legalise and develop industry unlocking the awesome potential of cannabis is here. The Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party applauds the initiative and encourages New Zealanders to support the ALCP this election so as  to free up laws that are constricting our right to this wonderful renewable resource.
