Welcome to the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party |
|
The Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party exists to legalise cannabis for recreational, spiritual, medicinal and industrial purposes; to empower people to work together for peace and true justice; and to institute a proper and just balance between the power of the state and the rights and dignity of the individual.
The ALCP cannabis/hemp policy provides for adult's home-grown needs as well as prescribed cannabis medicines, and will allow R18 cannabis commerce, but without promotional aspects currently seen with alcohol. Our policy also makes provision for 'expungement' of cannabis convictions. More info

On the 3rd of May cannabis law reformers turned out accross the country and the world to celebrate J-Day. In Dunedin hundreds braved the cold to come hang out with the cannabus and listen to some live music in the Octagon while puffing down on some of the South Island's finest offerings.
Meanwhile in Christchurch, the most dedicated activists withstood the worst J-Day weather on record... J-Day Photos
Students at Otago University have amped up their twice-weekly 4-20 protest, by taking their protest against cannabis prohibition and prosecution of students to the campus security office. Police recently arrested another student and trespassed two others, resulting in a raft of media attention. Dunedin Protest Action.

ALCP launches West Coast/Tasman campaign |

Steven Wilkinson
|
Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party has accepted Steven Wilkinson as their representative to contest the West Coast/Tasman electorate. This will be Steven Wilkinson's third election and second time representing Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party.
"I've learnt a few things from the last elections. Using the last three years to talk to people in the area, I feel that I have a better understanding of the importance's of the constituent's needs" says Steven Wilkinson.
"I think its important that the individual has a voice. I feel that cannabis users have no voice out there to speak for them. Prohibition places cannabis users into a stigmatising category, which forces them to keep their use secret, in fear of loosing their jobs or worse. While cannabis users do not come from one side of the political spectrum but across the whole swing, from doctors to unemployed, alternatives to farmers. They all know the true harms of prohibition, and that regulation is the only responsible way to handle cannabis in our society". Read More
